Jesus prophesied that all of the following would occur within the lifetime of people living around 33 AD. The time limit he himself laid down has long since expired!

? The stars would fall to earth

? The Great Tribulation & Rapture

? Judgment Day for all mankind

? The Second Coming of Jesus Christ.

Listen to what he himself said around 33 AD to his fellow Jews gathered around him:

“Remember that all these things will happen before the people now living have all died.” (Matthew 24:34 TEV)

“For the Son of Man [i.e. Jesus] is about to come in the glory of his Father with his angels, and then he will reward each one according to his deeds. I assure you [i.e. swear to you] that there are some here who will not die until they have seen the Son of Man [Jesus] come as King.” (Matthew 16: 27, 28 TEV)

So what happened? And why are people still waiting?

Jesus fulfilled the prophesies of the coming Messiah.

There are prophecies yet to be fulfilled. The last prophecies yet to be fulfilled are found at the end of the book of Revelation.

Some who saw Jesus glorified were the disciples with Him when Moses & Elijah visited Him and His appearance was bright.

Stephen saw Him at the right hand of God when he was being stoned.

Some are in heaven with the Lord, and Jesus is coming back to rule the millinium after the antichrist rules. Jesus will put satan in the abyss and the beast & false prophet are thrown into the lake of fire/ the second death.

I am waiting for the 1st resurrection completed, when those redeemed by the blood of the Lamb are resurrected and like Him. I believe the 1st resurrection started when Jesus raised from the dead and will be fulfilled at the time of His return to reign.

The Rapture is what I am looking forward to. I believe that when those Christians with oil full in their lamps are ready to be raptured and partake in the Marriage of the Lamb's Supper. After this, there is freedom for the beast & false prophet to rule. But those martyred because they refuse to take the mark of the beast in forhead or in back of the hand; they will also be part of the first resurrection.

Gods wrath will be poured out on those who are left, those who destroy Gods creation and His Holy Prophets and His Holy Saints.

So, pray to God for answeres. God had me read the book of John, 1-3 John, Revelation & Ephesians. Ask for Holy Spiritual enlightenment. If you have a question, question God without doubting and be specific. God promises to give Godly wisdom/ understanding / knowledge.

Hey, that's an awesome question. Thanks for doing your research. The "people now living" part of that verse is actually a misinterpretation that came about with the 1966 release of the Bible you used. (TEV) It changes both the original King James Version as well as the more recent NIV translation of the Bible. If you go back to the KJV which is an actual literal translation of the Bible you find the word generation replaces "people now living". In the Bible the word generation often refers to an age (period of time) rather than a literal generation like 40-100 years. I pasted a neat website that talks about some of the many errors with that version of the Bible that you use in your question. I hope it helps.

No He never said that it would Occur within the timeline of people living at 33AD He himself did not lay down that thime line

v. 34 The generation that sees Israel bud forth and become a nation again is the generation mentioned here.

You need to read and study the Bible in it's correct Context and not from a fabricated secular one designed to be biased.

Yes, Jesus said he would come back within the lifetime of the people who knew him.

He also said his proof to the pharisees would be his coming back (Didn't happen).

Funny how the only people who did see Jesus come back were the ones who believed in him.

First of all there wasn't even a timeline then, time started being recorded when Christ was born. Time doesn't exist to the divine.
And maybe He did come, it just wasn't recorded.:o]

And to answer the rest, just not yet, that's all. Faith my friend, faith.
I will always wait.
