The way we look for cures, by easier more accessible facilities?

The only place I see religion interfering with science is evolution.
And evolution by itself isnt the greatest discovery man has made.
It has no significance whatsoever on the daily events of millions of people in the world, like lets say the way doctors receive payment from pharmaceutical companies to advertise certain drugs.

I think scientists are quite objective and analytical about their work in any case so nothing much would change.

The problem with most drug prices has nothing to do with the science. For all intents and purposes, many drugs any more cost roughly the same to manufacture, once they're discovered. The huge cost is in the discovery itself, and not all the questioning in the world will reduce that cost.
Economics and patent laws make a huge difference too.
However, you ARE right. The more energy spent questioning science the better, because science requires questioning and challenging minds to continue to develop.

I have a better idea....let's spend the time criticizing evolution....which is fact.....criticizing failed political and economic policies instead! Like the Republican failed (for most Americans) health care policy. Or like their failed tax policy that increased expenditures while cutting taxes for the wealthiest Americans. Or like....drum roll....how they failed to accomplish their objectives in Iraq or Afghanistan.
I think Bush Jr. is actually intentionally bankrupting the nation. The less prosperous and ignorant a group of people are, the more they tend to be attracted to fundamentialism. I think his entire administration was an attempt at recruiting for his Church.

Health care has nothing to do with Science, Cheaper Drugs have nothing to do with Science, more accessible facilities have nothing to do with Science...why don't you ask the "Christian" President about thoes issues. You should be thanking Science that you can't get the black Plauge and you should be thanking Science that people don't get polio as much as they used to. You should be thanking science that we can give blood transfusions without having to worry about spreading horrible diseases.

The problem is that religious belief usually stands in the way of doing science properly. Look at our current administration and how they have filtered things through religion. Hopefully someone better will come along in 08.

Science is superb at self-criticism. It is the mechanism by which science advances.
What you are criticizing is business. Money is not medicine. Looking for cures involves more money. That's why drug companies ask for as much money as possible, to fund future research.

The problem is... religion is always interfering in science...
Galileo was threatened with death for asserting that the earth was NOT the center of the universe...
Research for medications is hampered by funding... maybe the churches should finance medical/scientific research.

Scientists spend a great deal of time criticizing each other.
And if anybody had a credible argument to criticize the observational and analytical underpinnings of science, scientists would be extremely interested in it.

You're talking about politics, not science.
And religion is, quite frankly, a great hindrance to social welfare.

what? i don't think criticizing science is going to do anything. if you practice it, learn it, study it and come up with some new ideas, that might help find some cures.
