You make TRUE BLACK by Mixing PRUSSIAN BLUE and IVORY BLACK.

You can make Black by mixing Prussian blue, phtalo blue, sap green, and cadmium yellow. But it isn't really a TRUE Black, but its an Impressionist’s black...

For Gray you mix equal parts of any 2 colours as long as they are opposites and not transparent.
Shade = BLACK and TINT = White

That is why people mix white and black.. Equally opposite

To gain either a Darker or lighter gray.. Tint or shade....

Happy Painting

Black and White mixed together make Gray. If you need black you honestly should buy some black paint. The color black is void of all color and no matter how many colors you mix together you're still going to have a "dark" version of that color. (i.e. - dark brown most likely).

You have to mix all the primary colors to get black. Black and white make gray.

Mix in all the primary colors to get black, red, blue and yellow, and you will receive a nice warm black(not too much yellow.
Beautiful greys are received by mixing complementary colors red and green, blue and orange, yellow and purple. or take the easy way out and mix black and white for a flat color.

No two colours can produce pure black. Black is a combination of all the colours of the spectrum. Black and white make gray, as do some browns and blues, but it depends on what colour gray you're looking for.

If you are trying to mix paint you would make black using red, green & blue. Specifically, Pthalo Green, Cerulean Blue & Cadmium Red. Note that this will not give you true black but it is as close as you will get and the formula that most professors will ask that you use.

I think all the primary colors together make black. In theory, none of the primary colors make white. This is based on my science knowledge though. Not art knowledge.
