Everyone used to be a kid. And what we LOVED during Valentines Day parties was the free candy on the cards from the other kids in the class. Of course, here are other options!:
~Snacks and Goodies~
*Let the kids either make their own ice-cream sundae, (with adult help so no big messes) or, decorate cupcakes
*Trail mix! (Valentines Day themed)
~Games~
*Pin the arrow on the heart game
*A scavenger hunt
~Goody-bags~
*Candy
*Pencils
*Little toys (Non-choking hasards)
*A note from the teacher saying things like, Happy Valentines Day, or, Have a great day, or, Your #1!
That's all I got.

When my daughter was in like second grade she too had a Valentine Party and she told me she wanted to bring something so I asked her what she wanted to bring. She said rice crispy treats. So instead of wasting all my money on a bunch of rice crispy treats that are like maybe four inches I made my own.
Here is the ingredients:
1 or 2 bags of marshmallows
1 tsp. of butter
half a jar of peanut butter
1 bag of Kellogs rice crispy cereal
Here are the directions:
Melt butter in a sausepan, add marshmallows, also add peanut butter
stir until mixture becomes to hard to stir
butter a square pan and spread evenly in the pan. Then cut into squares.
And like sunny chick said put red food coloring in it.

At my son's Valentine's day party last year I just made some simple rice krispie treats and then used a heart cookie cutter. Before the treats cooled all the way I used some red heart sprinkles on them and the kids really went nuts. Use a smaller cookie cutter since the kids have the little bellies and limit yourself to one batch. I made 2 and had oodles of leftovers after the party. Hope it helps!

The kids could take home like a goody bag with some pics of the party in them havin such a good time.
Also in the bags you could have like little heart boxes with some chocos hmmmmm they will love that
good luck with the party dude bet it will go great - hope it does -

I think that the kids could take home traditional goody bags full of red and white candies. Another option is giving out little Valentine's Day themed coloring books. Better yet, they could make their own paper hearts and decorate them with macaroni and glue, glitter, etc. and give it to their parents when they return home. It's unique and special for the parents to get a little love from their children.

We elect people to write the laws. If you are not happy with it then find new people to elect. Until then, deal with it. We can't just enforce what laws we like on a selective basis. Well, that's not entirely true. There is a thing called jury nullification. If the general public is so against the charges the jury (assumed to be a representation of the general public) can throw out the case.

Since the children are taking this home, it doesn't have to be a food - they'll probably get plenty of sweets at the party. Make some red playdough and put it in a little ziploc bag for each child.

I just did this and it was great! Looked cute!
Get a baking pan, like a cup cake pan, with little heart shaped cups instead of plain round holes.
Fill each cup to the brim with broken crayons, if you don't have lots of broken crayons buy some at the $1 store and snap them into bits. Bake for 10-12 minutes at 325 degrees, or until they are melted. Let them cool for a couple of hours then turn them over, since they're waxy the fall right out of the pan.
You end up with heart-shaped rainbow crayons, I put them into clear plastic bags and tied them closed with red and white polka dot ribbon from the craft store.
I went to the $1 store and bought little pads of paper and wrapped each one in plain red wrapping paper. I put white curling ribbon around each little wrapped pad, and tied the heart shaped crayons to the package with the curling ribbons.
All of them looked alike, the little girls & boys are getting the same things, same goodies. It looks like you spent a fortune, but you didn't. Go for it, Mom!!

~Heart shaped sugar cookies and bring icing/sprinkles, stuff like that so they can decorate their own cookies.
~Rice krispy treats cut in the shape of a heart and use food coloring to make them pink and/or red
or you could do Valentine candy jars
You will need:
Baby food jars
Valentine material or solid color material
Paint pens
Valentine candy (hearts or M&M’s)
Ribbon
Glue
Wash and dry your jar. Peel off the label. Fill the jar with yummy treats and place the lid on the jar. Next cut out the size material you would like for the top of your jar; should be at least twice the size of the jar lid. Then glue it into place on the top of the jar. Take your ribbon and tie it around the lid. Next use your paint pens to decorate the outside of the jar. Hearts are always a good thing to draw.

Decorate Your Own Cupcake:
For a party idea, give each guest an undecorated cupcake. Provide pink and white frosting and toppings such as colored sprinkles, red hot candies, conversation heart candies, candy kisses, strawberries, and whipped cream.
you can also check this website for more FUN ideas... Good Luck www.preschooleducation.com/cvalentine.shtml
