You can see a list of all patches that your local Scout shop sells here. http://www.scoutstuff.org/BSASupply/ItemDetail.aspx?ctlg=05NDC&ctgy=PRODUCTS&c2=UNIFORMS&C3=INSIGNIA&C4=&LV=3&item=102
You can also get patches specially made. I think it is neat to pick an animal that is native to the part of the country where you live, or that shares a trait that you want your patrol to have (like "Wise Owls" or "Busy Beavers")
Good Luck!

Check with the council office. Mine had a rack of patrol patches that they sold. Those are the easiest way to get them. You can be creative with the names too, if your troop allows it. For example - you can get the wolf patch, but use the patrol name Timber Wolves, Wild Wolves, Howling Wolves, etc, assuming the scoutmaster or troop policy allows it. We had one patrol that had a pine tree on their patch, and the patrol name was the Pinetrees Of Doom, or PODs for short.

Nope, a patrol name can be whatever you want. Your troop may have rules or guidelines, however. Check with your SPL.

Creative names can sometimes be the most fun.
