This past weekend was one I would say came straight out of hell. First of all I had to go to a family get together up in Chicago where is was extremely frigid. I was frozen all weekend long. To make matters worse everyone in my family was fighting.
My brother and I were fighting. My sisters were fighting with my sister-in-law. And my aunts were fighting with my mom. Nobody had a good time all weekend.
My brother was fighting with me cause I refuse to break things off with the new man I am currently involved with. He refuses to accept that I am 27 years old and can make my own decisions. How do I get him off my back.

Tell him he's not your Dad, and to step off. Say "I'm 27, and I'll figure out my own life," or, "Get back to me with advice when your own life's perfect..."

Sounds like a family with not much to do of a constructive or loving nature. Instead of trying to get your brother off your back perhaps you should try to make him your friend. Then you will better understand each other.

You can't make people do anything. Just go on about your life and limit your time with them.
But on the other hand... is there a reason why he wants you to break it off? Maybe he's right.

It looks like everyone needs to avoid each other for a while, maybe in the future everyone will have calmed down.
