I've heard about BKFK.com and have thought about submitting it with them. Should I get a patent first?

Yes you should always patent an Idea before sharing it with someone who can profit from your idea.

Absolutely find a patent attorney and do a patent search before you do anything else. Also, you should make a copy of all pictures, etc. and send them to yourself with a signature request. Once you receive it in the mail, don't open it. This is a little trick to keep someone from stealing your idea. Anyway, yes, hire a patent attorney. I found one in Texas for only $500. The rest of the $5,000 expenses came over time. I had to put around $2,250 down and it took several months. Now that I have a patent pending I'm getting letters from all kinds of people who want to represent me. I finally went with a company called Inventor's Publishing and Research. You can find them at www.amazinginnovations.com. They do charge for their service but they attend several trade shows per year and do a pretty good job of getting your product out there. Plus, when they find you a company who wants your product, you get all your money back before they make anything.

Good Luck!
