It was and always will be a cult;however, it has been accepted in society as an institution. It is a cult that has grown into a monster. You won't get any of the bible freaks to admit that, because they're already programmed to dismiss any doubts, regardless of what their heart tells them. Drones.

Once characteristic of a cult is that it takes away the free will of individuals as well as freedoms. You have the free will to not worship God, and you have the free will to leave the faith if you so choose.
There are other cults, like the Jim Jones cult, etc. that were actual cults where people got hurt when they tried to actually leave.

Mark 16:16 (NWT)
"he that believes and is baptized will be saved but he that does not believe will be condemned."
Mark 16:16 KJ "He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; But he that believeth not shall be damned."

Not as you said "burn in hell eternally"

A cult is a religion that is said to be unorthodox or that emphasized devotion according to prescribed ritual. Many cults follow a living human leader, and often their adherents live in groups apart from the rest of society. The standard for what is orthodox however, should be Gods word and we (speaking for my religion) Jehovah's Witnesses strictly adhere to the Bible. our worship is a way of life, not a ritual devotion. W neither follow a human nor isolate ourselves from the rest f society. We live and work in the midst of other people.

Interesting observation...ANY following that uses brain washing (faith) to propegate its message is a cult. And worship of a man is worshipping the leader, instead of the higher power.

In a cult, you are encouraged to only speak to other cult memebers, leave your family, give all your possessions to the cult leader, and woe be it to you if you want to leave.

In Christianity, you can talk to others outside your religion, you don't have to leave your family if they don't believe as you do, you can keep your possessions, and if you leave, no one is going to hurt you.

all religions are cults, and if christianity is a relationship, when was the last time you and Jesus had sex? I know some christian denominations, that put out death threats in the mail if you leave them. Ive read about those kind from other ex christians.
