Do you have a cold as well? Im not sure if it will be better for monday but buckleys helps with that. And/or halls. If its just sore and your throat is red, you may want to get it check out in case its strep throat. And drink plenty of water, no high acid drinks! stick with water. Hope that helps a little bit.

Your body temp is something to watch for. If it's going up as in fever then you may need meds because it may be due to an infection. You also can watch what you eat. Tomatoes orange juice and acidy things like soda and coffee may irritate it and hinder your chicken soup remedy. It's very dry this time of year so hang some wet laundry or get a humidifier to keep the air from getting too dry-that's also an irritant to the throat. Steam some tea, then drink it.

Try a throat spary specifically for sore throats. It temporarily numbs the area so swallowing is easier. Walgreen's and CVS make their own brands. The fix is immediate but only temporary.

You have done everything I would have done. A sore throat will go away when its good and ready. Just make sure that you don't have something more serious than just a sore throat, like strep throat, which will need antibiotics.

If you've tried all that then you could use advil and try and make sure your room has a humidifier in it at night when you sleep and try working up a sweat, it helps me get rid of a cold, other than that I think you just have to give it some time.

Gargle with 'warm' salt water. The trick is gargling it in your throat, and also that the water be as warm as you can take it. It never worked for me until I did it with the warmest water I could put in my mouth...make sure it's very salty also.
2nd option...Boil some water with lemons and add honey.

My doctor advised me to gargle with soluble asprin, keep it around your tonsils for as long as possible, then swallow it. He advised not too much water, just enough to dissolve it completely! It works.
