I am getting treatment for this and aim every day to rise above it. However, it comes out when my boyfriend, who says I am the one, are talking. He has a daughter. Wouldn't a man be wary of exposing a child to this kind of thought process? One detail - his wife died 7 years ago because she did not talk about her problems and overdosed on prescription drugs. I appreciate your advice and comments! Thank you.

I used to have OCD too and I was later diagnosed with Hashimoto's Thyroididtis, as soon as the first day of starting on thyroid medication it went away. No joke! my result on my THS test came back borderline high and they were going to leave it untreated until I demanded they give me a thyroid antibodies test. I was expensive but well worth the price because they decided to give me medication for my thyroid. Because my antibody test came back positive. I've suffered from OCD since the age of 5 and I'm 28 now I started my medicine when I was 24 and that has meant 4 yrs OCD free! I know what hell your brain has to endure every minute and it is terribly painful for the person and their families. Take peace in the fact that this man loves you despite your health and get to a doctor right away so you get some relief!

I think the most important thing is that you are aware of the problem and seeking help. We all have something, but many are in denial. This is only one part of you. You can still be an amazing person with OC tendencies. Good luck in your treatment.

Why should he NOT love you? Are we meant to love only the ones who are 100 % healthy? Are there people who are totally sane (perfect)? I hope you get the message..........
He loves you for what you are and you should be mature enough to do the same.
