My dad made me swear that "butterfly kisses" would not be in my future wedding. It's a tear jerking song and you might find it hard to sing on such an emotional day. Here's a few I know of that I've considered to play for after the wedding when my dad and I have our dance:

PETER CETERA - Apple Of Your Daddy's Eye
you can read the lyrics at

and just doing a quick search with google I found this one

Paul Simon's "Father and Daughter"
If you leap awake in the middle of a bad dream
And for a fraction of a second you can't remember where you are
Just open your window and follow your memory upstream
To the meadow in the mountain where we counted every falling star
I believe the light that shines on you will shine on you forever
And though I can't guarantee there's nothing scary hiding under your bed
I'm gonna stand guard like a postcard of a golden retriever
And never leave til I leave you with a sweet dream in your head

I'm gonna watch you shine
Gonna watch you grow
Gonna paint a sign
So you'll always know
As long as one and one is two
There could never be a father who loved his daughter more than I love you

Trust you intuition
It's just like goin' fishing
You cast your line and hope you get a bite
But you don't need to waste your time
Worrying about the marketplace
Try to help the human race
struggling to survive it's harshest night

I'm gonna watch you shine
Gonna watch you grow
Gonna paint a sign
So you'll always know
As long as one and one is two
There could never be a father who loved his daughter more than I love you

I'm gonna watch you shine
Gonna watch you grow
Gonna paint a sign
So you'll always know
As long as one and one is two
There could never be a father who loved his daughter more than I love you

ETA:An above poster cited these lyrics but has the name of the song and singer wrong. This song is called "Father and Daughter" and it is by Paul Simon, not Martina McBride as stated above.

In my daughters eyes- martina mcbride

If you leap awake
In the mirror of a bad dream
And for a fraction of a second
You cant remember where you are
Just open your window
And follow your memory upstream

Where we counted every falling star

I believe the light that shines on you
Will shine on you forever

Thats a great idea, hmm, obviously you want something that will touch her, maybe think about what she used to listen to as a youngster. You could have a look for some classics on the internet. Or maybe, wright her a song! As a girl i know if someone sang me there own song its even specialer. You could get help from a professional song writer or just use your own mind. Good luck, xx

This is a sweet song...

THE WAY YOU LOOK TONIGHT - Frank Sinatra

Some day, when I'm awfully low,
When the world is cold,
I will feel a glow just thinking of you...
And the way you look tonight.

Yes you're lovely, with your smile so warm
And your cheeks so soft,
There is nothing for me but to love you,
And the way you look tonight.

With each word your tenderness grows,
Tearing my fear apart...
And that laugh that wrinkles your nose,
It touches my foolish heart.

Lovely ... Never, ever change.
Keep that breathless charm.
Won't you please arrange it ?
'Cause I love you ... Just the way you look tonight.

Mm, Mm, Mm, Mm,
Just the way you look to-night.

It is a country song called "I Loved Her First". I can't remember the band that recorded it, but I'm sure you could find the lyrics and chords on and internet site called Cowpie. It's a beautiful song.

As others suggested, that Paul Simon song ("as long as one and one is two, there can never be a father who loves his daughter as much as I love you") is great. Whenever I hear it I picture my dad singing it.
Another great one is "You are so beautiful" - my dad used to sing that to me when I was little so maybe I'm biased.
