Strict parents are parents that believe that they are completely right in every decision they make for their child and are unwilling to bend a little. Sometimes parents can pull the reign to tight and choke a child. We as parents have to be willing to bend a little

My parents were strict when I was growing up. I considered them strict because they had high expectations, set rules, boundaries and consequences. They love me very much and knew best. There was never a time that I didn't know right from wrong. If I broke the rules I'd pay the consequence. They never hit or yelled. There was nothing worse than disappointing them. I'm not as strict a parent as them, but I wish I was. It was comforting to know what they expected. They were very consistent but also you could negotiate with them. They weren't unreasonable.

Parents who draw a line and never allow their children to cross it unscathed. Parents who aren't afraid to enforce consequences the second a child touches that line. For example, when they get close to it, you warn them. If they touch it, BAM off to time out. If they step over it, BAM they get a spanking. This is just an example. Yes I consider myself very strict. You allow your children all the freedom in the world, with in your boundaries. As they get older, and learn to follow your rules, you expand your boundaries.

Strict parents don't allow for second chances, they aren't afraid to act.

Good Luck

my parents were strict. i couldn't go anywhere, my father watched me get on the school bus every morning from k-12, having friends/boyfriends stongly discouraged. i was told that my outings would include church/school only, parties and malls would only be permitted if my mom came too. i wasn't allowed to talk on the phone, play with the neighborhood kids, sleep over my cousins house or play outside on the front porch.

They tell you who you can and can't date. Are still trying to ground you, and have curfew when you are 18 and up!

They are people who don't listen to what their children has to say. Inflexible and impossible to talk to. They want to be listened to but they don't listen. They are people who wants to be followed without questions. They want you to do as they say and not do what they do.
