I'm having issues with our W-2 forms for each employee. The #1 Wages, Tips, Other Compensation does not match #16 State Wages, Tips, Etc.

Box 16 State wages Tips Extra
1 and 16 most likely are the same the your employer is reporting to the Federal Government the amount you were paid in Box 1 and to the state the amount you were paid in box 16

The amounts should be the same. One is Wages, tips, etc and the other is STATE wages. They should be the same.
