Yes, infact they offer you incentives to do so because the Army is so undermanned right now.

Yes.

You can join the Army from any other branch of service as soon as you've ETS'd (finished your current contract). All you need to do is walk down to your local Army recruiting office, and they do what is called a "paper contract". Basically what this means is that you're already qualified and don't have to go through MEPS (physical, background check, etc.) again.

My grandfather was in the air force first (and then the navy). With the information he and my dad (my father was in the marines.) have provided me with I know that I want to join the marines if I go in to any of the armed forces. In the marines you put through a more difficult bootcamp (thats why you have to go through bootcamp again if you trade over there). Well any way yeah you can swich though I wouldn't you more than welcome too.

Yes and you wont have to go to Army basic or any other basic if you go to marine BootCamp. And you get promoted. If you go to Army first you can go to the MArines but you will have to go to Marine BootCamp. I warn you , you will be in a different world.

There is actually a program for active marines to switch to the army, but it has been unsuccessful. They were expecting something like 10,000 marines to switch, but only about 500 do each year.

I had a friend who did exactly that. She was a Marine active duty for 4 years, and then did National Guard OCS.

yes its very possible, being active duty already you would not have to go thru basic trainning again (long as you rejoin within 12 months) you would end up either joining the fleet or going to which MOS school you enlisted for if its a different specialty

Yes this is done every day. The only thing is if you have a support MOS as in supply or Admin, then they will send you to another round of AIT to learn how to do it their way. Good Luck to you .

It certainly is. I've known several members in the armed forces who have changed branches of service. Some more than once. You finish your contract with one and sign up with another.
