when I was raising children on a day school was cancelled and I was stuck at home also,it was a special day. We were isolated from the world usually in snow. We would build a fire and pop corn and watch old movies (if we still had elec.) Without elec.,the lanterns came out and I read stories or organized projects.

we had school in the quad cities, ill. so my 13 year old daughter is at school and im home alone. its the coldest here that i can remember. its -6* now. windchill is -20*. i cant stand it. i dont like going outside when its this cold.
