I weighed 140 pounds, but right now i just weighed myself and i weigh 149 pounds. I gained almost ten pounds. I am positive this is not muscle weight and i eat healthy and everything, but I would like to know what could have caused the rapid weight gain. I usually weigh around 140 pounds. Thank you all in advance.

Thank you all for answering.
I checked a doctor's scale and it said the same thing so the scale's not broken.
Also, I dont look what I weigh. Im a size seven in jeans and I really look about 130 something pounds.

It's not how heavy my clothes are either. I barely weigh anything when I weigh myself.

On a typical day, I would eat salad, chicken breast without the skin, a banana in the morning, cereal, sometimes oatmeal, an apple, maybe sometimes an orange or grapes, whole wheat bread, crackers, rice, and water. Sometimes I would eat stuff like chex mix. I dont drink soda, and hardly drink juice, but when I drink juice, I make sure its 100% juice. I eat in small portions, and I eat like five or six healthy meals a day. Thank you all!!!

chill out ! us ladies are prone to fluctuations in weight caused by hormonal changes (when you are due on your period it's totally normal to gain up to half a stone) also a heavy meal will effect your weight.
As you get fitter and your muscle to fat ratio changes (muscle is significantly heavier than fat) is it likely that on the scales you might even put on weight (which is pretty scary plus bloody annoying if you've been busting your *** down the gym !!)
In my opinion don't bother with the scales, just go by how your clothes look. because those height to weight graphs are a load of rubbish, they don't take into account individual body types whatsoever. A much better indication is the body mass index which measures the percentage of fat in your body.

Sounds like you are eating too much healthy food and...it depends on what you were told was healthy. Rice and grains and "whole wheat" foods are not fantastic. Just think...they use these to fatten cows and pigs and chickens. Legumes are not properly digested (why do you think we get gas?). Soy pulls your nutrients from your body and acts as an anti-nutrient. Fake sugar changes your blood sugar level just the same as regular sugar no matter the calorie difference. There are studies that conclude that things like cancer cannot occur without the pressence of unsaturated fats in the body and saturated fat from a good grass fed beef steak is the best fat you can have in your system within moderation...So, it just depends on what your facts are about eating healthy.

well there are many things that could cause this. I mean people thing that they are eating healthy but just because you follow a diet does not mean that you are not going to gain weight. It is just a thing that is going to happen to someone that is growing. I am 17 and i have the same problem as you because i have been putting on the weight since i started working out.

It sounds such as you're an exceedingly healthful eater, so save up the solid artwork there. be careful of issues like chex mixture, not simply by calorie content inevitably, yet simply by sodium. ingredients with an outstanding sort of sodium could make you save water, that would account for unexpected weight benefit. it is likewise not healthful to your coronary heart. i could talk to your medical expert approximately such speedy weight benefit, yet an outstanding sort of folk positioned on some iciness pounds, surprisingly after the vacations. once you're worried approximately your weight, nutrition plan on my own heavily isn't adequate. you will possibly desire to get energetic. Hit the health club and you will sense lots extra sensible.

Anything change lately in your lovelife?
Are you stressed and eating more?
Taking medications for anything? Some meds make you gain weight.
Are you exercise alot and gaining muscle? Muscle weighs more than fat and takes up less space.

Wearing different/more/heavier clothes. Using a different scale. Scale not calibrated correctly. Weighing yourself at a different time of day.

possibly a hormonal shift, or maybe your scale is broken... I wouldn't be too concerned about it right away, if you continue to gain rapidly I would see a DR.

Get some bloodwork done, it could be a thyroid problem or something more serious.
