I mean, when I was younger we never took our landlines to work with us-lol...hence the invention of the answering machine. Why is it that people assume that just because they carry a personal cell that that entitles them to talk whenever they want...on company time, in church, in restaurants, when they are conversing with other people?

Does this bother anyone else?

With all the txting and chatting our society does, it is surprising how isolated people still are from families and friends!!!

It's annoying when you get cut off on the road by some jackass on a cell phone. I refuse to even turn mine on anymore. I don't want to be one of "those" people, and also it's not that great if people can get in touch with you 24/7.

im not isolated from my family in a way. i dont agree with it 24/7. i wish i could go back to not having a cell phone, but because i have the option its better for me to carry it because my car isnt that reliable. theres this one guy at the school i attend now who doesnt have a cell phone and i just thought that was the weirdest thing but he might like that freedom. i dont like talking on my cell phone while im driving, because im conscientous that it may get me in an accident etc.

Civilized ppl tell callers to call back later (if the cell phone rings in the doctor's office, at a board meeting, in church, etc.)

It's super annoying when you're out with someone and they answer their phone. That definitely would not have happened back in the day! The phone stayed at home. I leave mine there whenever possible.

Yes, it bothers me! It seems to me the increasing usage of cell phones are only further alienating us from our fellow humans, rather than bringing us closer.

I own a cell phone for emergencies only. It's buried at the bottom of my purse.
