Theres this guy that's a really good guy friend of mine. His birthday is February 14th. Throughout his adult life he's never really had a birthday because he always made the day about valentines for the ones he's with. He's single this year so how can I show him a good birthday? I have an awesome present but need some ideas on what to do. It seems like no matter what I choose, it will somehow be associated with Valentines Day. Other couples will all be out to dinner, movies, etc.

HELP!

Whatever u do, don't use red or pink paper or any hearts if u wrap it up. Matter of fact, if u do wanna wrap it, use plain brown old grocery sack paper, & use twine to tie it up, if u want 2. Make sure u say "Happy Birthday", & don't even mention Valentines day. (My birthday is on 3/17 - St Patrick's Day, & if I get ne cards, they're usually green w/ shamrocks and/or 4-leaf clovers on 'em, & I'm not even Irish! I didn't use 2 tell anyone when it was, but some people seemed 2 always find out. Now I dont care - it's nice when anyone wishes me a "HB", cuz they dont have to.

Treat it as two separate occasions. I think the guy would much prefer that you acknowledge his birthday instead of Valentines day(Just a note: Guys really don't care about Valentines day or sweetest day...they are just holidays that obligate them to buy candy or flowers)
Or just surprise him a day or two before with his birthday. That way, you arebound to get some good stuff for Valentines day.

Don't let it be about Valentine's Day. Celebrate with a BIRTHDAY CAKE, no Valentine colors-make it masculine decor! Give him a birthday card. Wrap his present in birthday paper. Give him a Valentine Kiss. Keep them separate.

Two separate events!

He is faced with this every year.

Give him a birthday party without the V-Day

Then later go out for V-day

Trust me.

If you need to keep him at home and make a cake do it.

That allow will be a present.

I think that you're reading to far into it. if this guy as good a friend as you say he is he will probably know you mean it in a Platonic way. and even if he doesn't I'm sure he won't freak out if you tell him its Platonic. in any case the present you get him will be the biggest factor in determining how he will perceive the gesture.

I hope this helps

You can tell him that you'll celebrate his birthday by spending money not on what you want but actually what he wants to do. Tell him "lets do the things you want to do, not on what I want to do". Give him the best valentine birthday of his life.

For V day go to Victoria secret and buy some lingerie and you know what to do from there, and do the same for his B day. He will not be disappointed, unless your a tease. Lol.

well your situation is verry tuff but the solution is simpel first pretend to forget his b'day , after that have a nice valintine day but do not celebrate the b'day, but celebrate the day after valintine day . instead of celebrating it on 14.02.07 celebrate it on 15.02 .07. have a nice valintine day .
