Honey you are 11 years old...you shouldn't be worried about how much you weigh. You should be having fun...getting into trouble and stuff like that. If it bothers you that much though then try to become more active. Dance Dance Revolution is a fun way to stay active indoors since right now it's too cold to be outside in most places. Just don't stress the weight. It's called "baby fat" right now and when you hit your growth spurt it'll all go where it's supposed to be.

And when your brothers say you are fat, tell them, "Yeah well you're ugly. I can lose the weight and when I do, you'll still be ugly!"

Honey, you don't need to worry about being over weight, because you are at the age where you are preparing for puberty to happen soon... probably within 3 years, which means that you will gain some weight before hand so that when you hit your growth spurt you won't be underweight. This is normal sweetheart. Plus, you are still growing and changing and your body will go up and down in weight until you're done growing. If you limit your dietary intake now, you could do some damage. Just eat normal, healthy food, and healthy amounts, get plenty of exercise... walking, biking, playing sports and JUST HAVE FUN AND LOVE YOURSELF! You are beautiful!

OH my God. You have an eating disorder.

You do NOT need to lose weight. Your mother is right. Not only are you too young, but there is NO need. You haven't even started puberty yet. Your body is going to change so much, so just be patient. All of us went through this--dieting now is a HUGE mistake. If you still feel you are fat, then you need to talk to your mom and get help.

it is important to understand that everyone is an individual and if someone says your over-weight may not mean that you are.
I do agree that dieting is a bad idea at your age but what you can do is avoid sugary foods as the energy in sweets/candy needs to be burnt up straight away.
try to eat low fat options! look at labels and try to compare products fat content.
exercise.
this the best weight control their is.
remember food is fuel.
therefore if you exercise then you will burn fuel. (lose weight)
this can be achieved by running (with your brother) swimming and skipping and other cardiovascular exercise.
when excising you should remember to get the desired effect then you should try to do non-stop exercise for at least 40 Min's 3-4 times a week.
the best way would be a goal to say run 5 miles in the summer (in one continuous effort).
or to swim a mile by summer.
or dance non-stop for 1 hour by summer.

imagination the world is yours for the taking.

You probably need to exercise more. Buy a Wii. Many of the games have you very active - boxing, swinging, etc. I read a story online recently about a man who lost 9 pounds just by playing Wii boxing, hard, for 30 minutes every day. He didn't change his diet or anything. Also, West Virginia is putting Dance Dance Revolution, which is coming out soon for the Wii, into all of their schools, to encourage the kids to exercise more and be more fit. More and more studies are showing that active video games are helpful in keeping kids in shape - it's fun and it gets them moving.

Tell your mom that you are not comfortable with your weight and you need to see a doctor for a physical and he/she will let you know what you can do different. Good luck and your mom is right, you are too young to diet. Get some exercise in everyday. Play outside with your pet, jump roping is fun, there are kids exercise DVDs so you can get some exercise inside. Have fun.

you are too young to diet! you still have baby-fat in your body and once puberty hits, you will start to burn that baby fat. but if you're looking to feel better about yourself, start exercising more, going outside and playing, ask your mom if you can join your community sports team, something like swimming or anything that involves running like softball. just start watching your food intake and try to eat less junk food sweetie. do not put your body through anything drastic, it could impair your health in the future.

If you're 11 years old, you DO NOT need to diet. Your body is going through changes that require a lot of energy. Starving it of calories and nutrients will NOT help you develop, it will hurt you. You don't have to worry now about anything, enjoy it while it lasts.

Brothers are like that, don't pay any attention to them. You ARE too young to diet, enjoy being a child. Just eat healthier.
