I am 19 years old. I weight 106.4 and i'm 5' 6" i'm also a female. I would like to know if I should gain weight. I'm afraid to because all my friends say I should but they are all bigger. Are they just saying that so I will weigh the same as them or do they actually care? I'm not anorexic i just have a really good Metabolism. Let me know what you think.

It sounds like you should put on a bit of weight. Your best bet, though, is to check with your doctor. Find out if you are getting the right nutrition, etc, and if you are healthy. Then s/he can advise you much better.

Your story was mine story several years ago. From my teenage years until my midthirties I was small framed with little weight on my body. I tried eating a lot to gain-didnt work. I tried crashing on junk foods to gain weight-didnt work. I bought a product at that time called WATE GAIN to try and gain pounds-that didnt work either. My first two pregnancies didnt help, but the third pregnancy did the trick. And my world changed from not being able to gain weight to trying not to gain weight! I am still small framed and slender, but with 20 extra pounds I am filled out in the hips, buttock and legs are not so skinny. How I like the weight gain? It's okay. I'm glad that I didnt gain much in my waistline and tummy though.

Now when I reflect back on wanting and trying sooooo hard to gain weight, I wish I had not made such a big deal out of it and just enjoyed know that I could eat anything and not worry about calories counting. So just enjoy being you and the body make-up you are blessed to have. Like you, 90% of my friends and acquaintances were waiting for me to join them in being oversized. I think because they were envious of my size and shape. Well I hope they are not still holding their breath b/c I am still not there yet.

As strange as it sounds, I've always heard that strenght trainging will help you gain weight-all in the right places, too! Just make certain that you eat healthy and increase your protien.

I think you are a little on the light side for 5'6" and 19 years old. You could probably do with an extra 10 pounds easy. Would show off your curves better too, I think.

yes, I think 130 is a good weight for your height. Just make sure you eat right and enough. Some people are just meant to be skinny.
