Everything can make you lose weight. Nothing can make you lose weight, too. Proper nutrient intake each day will speed up your metabolism (because you body is actually functioning normally). This is the reason why these companies claim you lose weight with yogurt. The normal individual does not intake enough calcium and other nutrients which is in yogurt. Dairy from grass fed cows is actually good for you (gasp!). Soy milk is the worst (soy is an anti-nutrient). In conclusion, when you eat healthy, you can lose weight and your body will stop acting as if it is in emergancy mode.

Burning more calories than you eat makes you lose weight.

All other things being equal, eating yogurt rather than some higher calorie food will result in a greater weight loss (or lower weight gain).

I don't think so. Weeks ago, I started having yogurt every day. And I gave up soda pop. It did nothing.
So now I am trying something new. I will eat what I want. But I eat a big salad first.
Too soon to tell if its working.
