Town Council meetings often took place in the public house we all know as 'Bobby's Tavern'. Mr Brown (Broon) one of the councillors was reported as leaving the pub after a few refreshments, and said "that rock looks awffy like a crocodile", and Millport's Crocodile Rock was born.
