*60 and his number (if you have the call blocking service).

You can also change your cell number for free. It is a pain, but which is worse; telling your friends you have a new cell number because an ex keeps sending messages, or putting up with these?

I do wish "texting" was never invented. The art of communication has been permanently damaged.

You need to let this person KNOW that you are no longer interested and that you will be saving all text message and if they continue you will be filing for a restraining order. This ought to do the trick.

You do it the same way you'd get a person with cancer or hepatitis to stop texting you (the disease has nothing to do with the solultion). You tell him to leave you alone. Tell him he is stalking you. If he doesn't stop, get a restraining order against him.

Change your phone number. It's worth doing it, been there done that. If they somehow get your number again, tell him you will file for a restraining order if they contact you again.

just be honest with him and tell him to stop calling or you will press charges for harassment or change your number.

I agree. Change number, and IGNORE them. If you don't give a reaction, they'll get tired of pestering you. (hopefully)
