I live on Orkney off the North coast of Scotland. It is a beautiful island and very peaceful. However, I must say, although the crime rate is VERY low here, the main offences are drink related. So it would seem that no matter where you live, atisocial behaviour is rife!

I live in Kilkenny in the South East of Ireland. Its a nice place actually, lots of medieval history, lots of cultural things going on like arts and theatre and music. Good pubs and clubby places too. Theres only one street really in the town( or city, it has two cathedrals so some people say its a city!) called Johns Street which gets a bit violent at night but other that that its pretty safe. The weather is good in the summer too, its the warmest place usually in Ireland during the summer when theres good weather, it gets pretty hot! Theres lots of nice countryside around it as well, good oportunites to go mountain walking or whatever. Also its only two hours from Dublin in a car so you can go visit there too! Theres a good mix of people in Kilkenny too actually, lots of young people (theres at least 6 secondary schools and about 7 primary schools) lots of older people, quite a lot of foreign people now too which is good. Shopping is ok, theyre gradually getting more trendy shops, theres a new shopping centre opening soon. Basically it is a nice place to live, I've been there nine years and I love it! :o)

I live in Wakefield,West Yorkshire, I like living here, the town centre nightlife used to have a bad reputation but unless you get the odd idiot that's had too much to drink it's a great night out, there doesn't seem to be as much police presence and they now have wardens and they seem to keep things under control if there is any trouble. The area has been rejuvenated in the last few years and has changed for the better.

I live on the north sea coast of Angus in Scotland, near Dundee. There is violence all over the UK. The alcohol fuelled behaviour you witness in your town centre is mirrored in every other town centre. We are home birds, now in our 50's.In my youth the behaviour was not so extreme. I have lived all over the UK and I think the scenes we see of current youth are the worst ever.

Sunderland; I like living here but then, I'm a born and bred Mackem. We're a very proud bunch. We have just about everything. The sea, the countryside, shopping, good sports facilities, a few castles, abbeys (within the borough, not neccessarily the city) a Greek style monument, the river. Just about anything you're interested in, we've got.

I live in Kilmarnock. It is a good place to be. 15 miles from the coast. 20 miles from Glasgow and all it has to offer and just over an hour to get to Edinburgh or England if you drive fast enough! There is an undesirable bunch of folks most places so I figure I am as well being here as anywhere.

Roughly 5 miles South of Bradford and we have a similar problem even though the place is full of CCTV's. I would be in warmer climes if the lotto came up as are 160,000 other Brits are doing each year.
