Could be, but not because of Protestants only. Every government that cuts back on educational budget and pumps the money into the defence budget to buy more advanced guns, is opting for a Dark Age comeback. The practice is consistent within itself. If the public in general was knowledgable and intellectual enough to understand why wars are still fought, who would go to Iraq to get killed? Let the Bush twins go, it is their family's oil company after all.

It wouldn't surprise me. I agree with the above poster, they keep giving science boundaries to follow, which makes it harder for them to develop inventions. Not only that, but it seems like they want to control how people act and react to everything. I think this is one reason why I choose the path of Pagan. Less influences.

They're certainly pushing for one the way they're opposing medical and scientific advances every step of the way, and lobbying for a theocracy in the U.S.
