I know I have to clean house, but I have a hard time getting motivated to do it--especially if I am the only one who is going to see it for a while. I've found that listening to my iPod helps, but what else is good self-motivation to get the job done???

I have found the following to be true. Idleness leads to idleness, action leads to action. I live alone also, and I don't have people over often. What I do to motivate myself to start cleaning is to do one thing, say clean the toilet. I find that accomplishing one nasty chore and getting it out of the way motivates me to clean something else. Its a kind of chain reaction.

The dirtier the house gets the more motivated I am to clean it. So it doesn't take much since I like things clean and tidy.

You feel better after getting it done. It gives you a sense of accomplishment. It also looks a lot better and you know that you don't have to worry about it any more! I play music from the TV or from a stereo really loud and the music just gets me in the mood to do things!

i find that if i do "set things" everyday i get used to it and do it without thinking about it. like every day when i get home i pick up things that me or my bf left out from the morning, load the dishwasher, etc. seems weird but it helps! also listening to music always helps!
