If you're into software synths Cakewalk makes some awesome synths. Rapture, Z3TA, and Dimension Pro. Many of these software synths can emulate all the standards and are fully programmable. I love software and will never touch a regular synth again. All you need is a laptop, or desktop computer and a midi controller.
