I plan on making a weekly video for my website and I was wondering which is better a webcam or a digital camcorder. I need to know which is cheaper and which delivers better quality, both sound and image. Also if you used them before, which brand do you recommend.

I have a digital camera: the Fujifilm Finepix F10. It will shoot 640 x 480 video at 30 fps and picks up sound (monaural) pretty well. With a 2GB memory card it shoots have an hour of video. If you can afford it, I'd recommend a digital camera with similar capabilities, since the F10 has been discontinued.

In my opinion, a digital camcorder will serve you much better in the long run. Webcams simply have not kept up with technology in the way of video quality. Buy the best you can afford. You will be disappointed in the cheaper models. Save up until you can afford to buy what will best meet your needs. As for brand name, I've been into photography and imaging for a number of years, and Canon is the only thing I use. You simply cannot beat their lens quality, ease of use, and compatibility from one item to the next.

webcams don't have the quality.
I suggest you buy a digital camera.
they take nice movies
that way, you can also take regular pics
plus save yourself a couple hundred dollars
go to canonusa.com and look
then go to shopzilla.com for a good price
