I have been with my boyfriend a year and 3 months also and we still hold hands. kiss, cuddle and we are really affectionate! it's all about BOTH being affectionate and still doing the things for eachother from before you know, kissing, holding hands all that! it's up to both of you to keep it HOT still! you should talk to him about it and let him know that it's bothering you, that you need to be shown that your being loved. If he shows no effort in making it better after you talk to him then you should move on because it wouldn't work out! you can't or shouldn't even be telling someone to hold you, kiss you! they should do it themselves! that should come natural! as for a valentine idea..here's something I did and it was FUN!!...I did a striptease in cute sexy lingerie, gave him a nice massage and we played after...I decorated the room with lots of rose petals and used alot of candles for a dim lighting! well anyways good luck ;)

I'm the same, I need intamacy and affection. Just tell him that you need that stuff to be happy. I don't know why he would have a problem with kissing you more and touching you more.
Tell him actions speak louder than words.
Good luck. Hope you two have a great v-day together.
