Good question! Think hard about that. Had Muhammad been a scholar in literature, there's no way people would have believed that the message he delivered was from God, they would have given credit to his use of the language and discredited his prophethood. Now, you take a man who cannot read or write, whose entire education and career revolved around necessity and survival (he was a trusted tradesman), and then you read the Quran. There's no way an illiterate man could have written something with such eloquence and perfect detail, and even many non-Muslims agree to that:

Of course, God knows best.

Gabriel went to Mohammed (pbuh), not Allah. Gabriel asked Mohammed to read as a test to make sure he was the true Last Prophet.

Well what I have found is that most Islamic people that I know do not really have that many answers to what or why they believe what they do. Some things just do not make sense, like this question for example shows that they are mistaken. They need Jesus, the Holy Spirit, and God the Father. email me at vinedresserssons@gmail.com we will talk some more.

What he meant was to memorize or to pay close attention. Most likely pay close attention. Reading isn't only for words on a page.

Why do you question God? If God told him to read it, don't you think that God would allow him to be able to read it? God allowed many things to happen to many people. He spoke to many people and they all understood Him. God has ways.

Who said god came to mohammad...? Thats just an illusion that mohammad created to make his story sound legitimate.....thats how he brainwashed his followers.

there is no god, it's just a fictional book that someone wrote because they knew what kind of "religeous" segreation and arguments would follow for millenia to come.
its an early version of the "911 commission report"
which they mispelled the covers but sent them out anyway. it was origianally titled "the 911 OMISSION report"
someone hit the "c" key by accident, at least it was the c button, and not the Launch button.....this time...

ALLAH Almighty can do anything he wants. If ALLAH told Prophet Muhammed(PBUH*) to read than the Prophet(PBUH*) could read because ALLAH made it happen.
