Use garlic powder. 1/8 tsp = 1 clove

here are several ways:
you can use for every garlic clove 1/2 tsp of garlic salt or celery salt.
you can use more onion (preferable green onions) and a little fresh (or dried) ginger. or just the onion.
you can use coriander roots
or:
granulated garlic (provides flavor, but not texture) OR
garlic flakes (Substitute 1/2 teaspoon garlic flakes for every clove of garlic) OR
garlic powder (Substitute 1/8 teaspoon powder for every clove of garlic called for in recipe.) OR
garlic salt (Substitute 1/2 teaspoon garlic salt for every clove of fresh garlic called for in recipe. Reduce salt in recipe.) OR
asafetida (powder) OR
rocambole OR
garlic juice (especially when you want the flavor, but not the pungency, of garlic) OR
shallots OR
onions OR
garlic chives

a garlic clove is from a fresh garkic bulb ,a clove is one of the segments in side then this you crush , mince ,, slice , chop.the one's already in jar's are not the same it is best fresh as the meal will not taste the same with using dried or powdered garlic.

in the produce department, they have little jars of minced garlic that you can use. Or if you just dont want to go to the supermarket, then try garlic powder. just be sure to regulate the salt, since the sodium levels in garlic powder tend to be high. otherwise...you might need to just make a trip to the store.

You can use Garlic Powder in place of Garlic Cloves. However, it is very strong, so use it in moderation.

a lot of times you can use garlic powder. just make sure that you get the amounts right. usually you can substitute a teaspoon for a teaspoon, etc, but also, go by taste.

by the way, garlic powder doesn't usually contain salt, that's what garlic salt if for.

I keep a bottle of garlic powder for when i run into that same problem. Just make sure you dont go overboard with it :o)

It would be a poor substitute but onion is its closest relative
Spring onions/scallions would be an idea.
