I just asked if perhaps it isn't to God's advantage to lie about hell. One of the answers was "would you lie to your child?"

So if the child ananlogy is accurate, I'd like to know who here would willingly allow their child to be tortured for eternity?

LOST TO SAVED

According to the bible, no human has anything that can be tortured for eternity.

Adam and Eve were created souls, souls born to them die, the souls are resurrected to salvation, if any want to join Satan and reject salvation, the opposite of eternal life is eternal death.

Luke 20:34-36; Angels do not die, Gen.6:2,4; In tartarus hell prison they seem to be fine, Jesus even went to visit them Jude 6; 1Pet.3:18-20; 2Pet.2:4; they wait for the judgement 1Cor.6:2,3; the saints are the judges. These angels can not cause a problem for other angels or for any of humankind as they were doing before the flood.
We are different than angels, we are born in the imperfections of sin and every effort is being made for our salvation as offsprings of Adam.

The opposite of life is death, dust to dust. The life of the soul is the spirit of God, his spirit can not dwell forever in imperfection, his spirit belongs to him and it returns to him.
We have a life here short and full of troubles to end in death. To be resurrected and given every opportunity. John 3:16; 1Cor.2:9; Rom.5:8-11; Heb.2:9,14,16;

Any one that does not get eternal life, will have no one but self to blame.
Psm.7:2; 49:14; 104.29,30; 115:15-17; 146:3,4; Acts 17:31; 24:15; 1Cor.15:22-28,51-53; Heb.9:27; Rev.20:1-6,12,13; No Satan 1000 years, the heavenly for the new heavens are with Jesus, to resurrect the earthly for the new earth as perfection LOST from Eden is 2Pet.3:13; Rev.21:1-5; all made new and perfect in 1000 years.
We have to face it. Some do not want it. Rev.21:8 [ second death ]; Rev.20:7-10 the final end for those who do not eternal life.

You are missing the true point. None of us as parents would willingly allow our children to be tortured for a moment, let alone eternity.

Yet, our children make poor choices and have to live with those choices.

Lets take as an example a child whom has been put in prison. As a parent, we raised them to do what was right, they chose to do wrong. We certainly never willingly allowed them to go to prison. Once they make the choice to do what is wrong, we certainly cannot go back and change the rules, because if we did or could, that would make the child in charge of what the rules were and are.

Nobody is going to be tortured for an eternity. Thats a silly bit of nonsense from man - not from God.
The manuscripts state that nobody will be thrown into hell until the 1000 year period of teaching is completed. It will begin when Christ returns. Every single person will have the opportunity to learn and even see the truth. Its not that its a second chance, its just that with the tripe being taught, people don't have a first chance to learn truth. After that teaching period, if someone still will not accept, then they will be blotted out of existance.
That means turned to ashes from within. poof. gone.
Nobody is gonna fry like bacon while the rest of us watch and enjoy Heaven. Thats not my idea of a good time, and more importantly, it is not written in the Scriptures.

Punishment - like going to prison for a crime one committed - doesn't compare to constant torture for all eternity. So those who are trying to compare this to how we deal with criminals to sending someone to hell forever are missing the boat.

If anyone in my family knowingly committed a crime and got sentenced to jail, I would tell them that I'd support them through it, but they're adults and they should have known this was coming. Do your time and learn from it.

BUT, if they were sentenced to be tortured 24/7 for the rest of their lives, I'd say 'hell, no' (pardon the pun).

There is a difference between punishment and sadistic cruelty. The idea that God would devise such a thing for children He loves shows a very low opinion of God, in my opinion.

AND, to the poster above me... realize that according to the Bible and to Christians, it isn't just the lazy or immoral or criminal going to hell, it's good, hardworking, moral, kindly, considerate people as well, just because they didn't follow your religion!

It. doesn't. make. any. sense. at. all.

I would not allow anyone to be tortured for eternity. Even the vilest and most reprehensible of humans was finite in his crimes. It cannot be Justice to punish beyond what is deserved. That is a major reason that I am no longer a Christian.

We can not make a person go to hell or keep them out.

It is an individual thing.

And as sad and horrifying a thought of one child going to hell, that child brings this judgment on his or her own self.

By the way, that child I am talking about, is one who has reached the age of accountability; whatever the age.

Jesus has a really special and wonderful place for children in Heaven. He said they would go to Heaven and he was talking of little Jewish children at the time, so I think any little children that die have a special place and its nowhere near Hell.

Only the Biblical God is "all merciful" enough to do that! Create an institution of eternal torture? Even Hitler was not that evil! But God can because "his mercy endureth forever"!!

the analogy is not accurate.
parents do not "allow" their children to be lazy and immoral all their lives.
parents do not "allow" their children to become rapists, murderers, atheists.
parents do not "allow" their children to become drug addicts and completely ruin their lives.
those are all choices their children make all on their own.
parents wish those things would not happen but have little to no control over whether the children choose those ways of life or not.
The same applies to God.
God wishes that none should perish but spend eternity with Him in Heaven.
God has made a way for them to do that.
His children, however, are granted the ability to choose where they spend eternity.
If they choose not to accept God's Gift of eternal life, that is their choice and cannot be ascribed to God "allowing" them to be tormented for eternity.
that is the ultimate cop-out.
"It is all God's fault".
pure human foolishness!!

God doesn't send ANYONE to hell. God loves the whole world and everyone in it.
John 3:16 "For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life." NLT

God wants everyone to go be with Him always.
2 Peter 3:9 The Lord isn't really being slow about his promise to return, as some people think. No, he is being patient for your sake. He does not want anyone to perish, so he is giving more time for everyone to repent. NLT

The whole purpose of His Son dying on our behalf was to keep us from going to hell. so we can have eternal life His life. The Father and Son loves us so much they where willing to give everything they had Jesus His life and God His only Son just to keep you out of hell. Hell was made for the angels who rebelled not for man.

2Peter2:4 For if God did not spare the angels who sinned, but cast them down to hell and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved for judgment...

when you reject God what you are saying is i don't want you or your Son sacrifice for me I want to Go to hell. Salvation is a free gift from God by His Son. when you believe this God is willing to place you with his Son to reign with Him. If yo choose to follow Satan than you are choosing hell. there are only 2 kingdoms Gods and Satan's. there is NO middle ground you belong to one or the other.
