You will have to contact the City of Fort Carson and ask them about their ordinance on Pit Bulls.

I was not able to help you find SPECIFIC info to fort carson (which is actually a good sign. Usually if there is a ban, there are articles)

This is helpful as many of the bans are similar:
"La Junta: The ban allows pit bull owners over 21-years-old to keep their dogs if they comply with a list of rules, including registering the dog with the city and showing proof of liability."

And this leads me to believe that the area around Colorado Springs is free of bans:

"...the laws passed by Denver and other municipalities in the area banning a specific breed of dog, the pit bull ? the unintended consequence is that many of the outlawed dogs are ending up in and around Colorado Springs. Eric Mack reports" [link included below]

This is the link to the police in Fort Carson. You should call and ask them directly for the quickest, most definite answer.

Hi queenmaeve1979!!
It is illegal to keep a pit bull in Denver ( Banned on 9 May, 2005) .
The animals were banned by city ordinance in 1989, but a state law passed in 2004 prohibited the singling out of certain breeds of dogs. also...

Aurora, Colorado (Banned on 27 September, 2005)

Parker, Colorado (Banned on 17 January, 2006)

Denver's pit bull law prohibits any person from owning, possessing, keeping, exercising control over, maintaining, harboring, or selling a pit bull in the City and County of Denver. A pit bull is defined in the ordinance as any dog that is an American Pit Bull Terrier, an American Staffordshire Terrier, a Straffordshire Bull Terrier, or any dog displaying the majority of physical traits of any one or more of these breeds.

Copies of the three official breed standards are available at the Denver Municipal Animal Shelter, located at 678 South Jason St. For more information, call (303) 698-0076.

Contact the base directly. Talk to MORE THAN ONE PERSON.

Neither El Paso County or the city of Colorado Springs have specific pit bull laws. But the base may have something on their own.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Here's a website that outlines state laws and owner responsibility regardless of the breed of dog. Common sense stuff...

Wikipedia also has several links to state laws and goings-on. Plus two very handsome pictures of pits.

First you need to if your going to live on post or off, if on post contact your sponsor or company that you are being transferred to they will be able to tell you if there are any regulations on pits. If you are living off post you can research the city ordinance on their web site.
