I want to convert Text Files (from NotePad) into Avi or Mpeg so that by adding Wav file I am able to prepare and publish a talking story book for children. Can anyone guide me?

Use Pinnacle Studio
You can put images, text, sound amd interesting transition, tahtll be perfect for your job.

You can't actually *convert* text files into movie files.
However you can use a program that will allow you
create animated or static sequences, to which you can add your text by cutting and pasting ( CTRL +A - Select All, CTRL + C - Copy, CTRL + V - Paste ) from notepad or wordpad.

Software packages vary from Open Source ( No License Fees ), to Shareware/Commercial. See

Should you wish to publish on the web as well, then any of the prorams that create Adobe Flash files,
would also work.

im not sure what you would use to do so, but you can find alot of (mostly free) software downloads at download.com. just take the tutorials after you DL them
