if it goes to tight and curly then wash your hair a couple of times straight away to loosen it, remember though permed hair will always drop about a week after having it done, if you only want a loose perm then dont expect it to stay in your hair for months, perms dont normally stay in your hair forever.

I got a perm back in october and I had it done by a professional (it cost me $200). I just wanted soft waves and she said she knew exactly what I wanted, but in the end I hated it. It didnt exactly turn out how I wanted it. My perm didnt look bad but it wasnt how I pictured it at all. So I straighten it most of the time or curl it but now it takes me forever to do my hair and it's really frustrating b/c I'm used to it taking like 5 minutes. The only way you can take a perm out is by getting another perm but instead of putting it in the rollers you brush it straight. I'm going to do this soon its almost been 4 months, but I wanted to wait b/c it damages your hair so much. If I were you I wouldnt get one your hair becomes brittle and you cant do half the things your used to doing. There are so many things you can do to make it wavy without it damaging your hair.

i honestly wouldnt do the permanent type first just in case you dont like it. how long is your hair? cuz a lot of people go get perms expected to end up with victoria's secret hair, really wavy and loose curls, but then when they end up with shirley temple hair theyre not too happy. if you have long, thick hair then your hair will weigh it down so your curls aren't as tight, but otherwise it will be pretty curly. of course there are types of perms that can be done so the curls arent as tight, but from what ive seen they almost always turn out with similar results. have you done a perm that goes away in a few months? cuz honestly if you havent you should do that first, because otherwise you may end up with hair you arent happy with.
here are some links with info about perms, they might be worth looking into before you go through with it. good luck!!!

I don't think you could do anything before school the next day, apart from maybe tie it back in a tight pony tail, unless you have ghd hair straighteners, these could straighten it out pretty good until you get chance to have your hair straightened professionally. Be sure of what you're doing though, perms and straightening can take a lot out of your hair... be careful xx

i had a perm and regretted it as i have really thick hair and it made it worse and bigger! all i did was wash it afew times and wore my hair up for a few weeks while the perm started to drop out, its a hard one really, as everyones hair is different and might take longer for their perm to start droppin out. as long as ur sure its wot u wanna do then go for it and dont worry about it goin wrong, i know ur can do a number of things to make perms drop out but they will only damage your hair so wont go into telling u them. and remember once its done u might think oh my god wot hav i done as it'll be a big change but u will soon get used to it and if u dont then wear ur hair up for afew weeks, and wash it regularly that will help loosen it up abit. good luck

When you get a perm, you are stuck with it until it grows out, hence the name 'permanent'.
I got one once, once.

Invest in a hat. They're not called "permanents" for nothing.

wash it straight away if it goes wrong. but i mean REALLY wash it, cause someone i know had theirs done, and wash it after 2 days instead of three, and it went dodgy.
