If this is a thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH) test and the results are high, you should probably be placed on a synthetic thyroid hormone such as synthroid or levoxyl.
I don't understand why your doctor isn't concerned about this. While it is very easy to treat, it can cause a myriad of problems if left untreated.
Hypothyroidism (under active) effects every organ in your body. You need it to be treated. See an endocrinologist.
Just an add on here. It doesn't mean your thyroid is working overtime, it means your pituitary gland is working overtime trying to get the thyroid gland to produce thyroid hormone.
Hyperthyroidism is an overactive thyroid and is much more difficult to treat. My advice stands, see an endocrinologist.

If the doctor was referring to the TSH being high, then you are hypothyroid. You will probably be put on a thtroid med and monitored every 6-8 weeks until your TSH becomes stable. Keep tabs on it. For most feel best with a morning TSH of around 1.0.
I suggest reading up on hypothyroidism. The more you know, the better you will feel. Some links below.

Thyroid disease is one of the most common health problems we face today. From a practical standpoint, there are many ways to approach this issue. Learn here https://tr.im/FgwUy
Hypothyroidism, or underactive thyroid, is a very common problem, and there are many reasons for this, including drinking chlorinated and fluoridated water, and eating brominated flour.
Chlorine, fluoride, and bromine are all in the same family as iodine, and can displace iodine in your thyroid gland.
Secondly, many people simply aren't getting enough iodine in their diet to begin with. The amount you get from iodized salt is just barely enough to prevent you from getting a goiter.

Just been through this myself. If you have an overactive thyroid your doctor should refer you to a specialist because there are different causes for this - mine was Graves Disease.
Have you noticed any other symptoms? (There is a lot of information on the web about this), because you may need to go on other medication besides the thyroid drugs (probably carbimazole), to help with these. I had to have beta-blockers to help with the palpitations and antihisthamines to help with the itching. This also brought on asthma that I'd never had before, so its worth goin back to your doctor and asking for more advice. Good Luck. xx

It depends on what test was high.
You probably have hyperthyroidism, which makes you go go go.
If you're sluggish, don't have much energy, you are hypothyroid (which shows up as an elevated TSH).
There is treatment available for both of these.
Your doctor will probably put you on medication.

If they meant your TSH - it means that you are starting to show signs of hypothyroidism. It's easy to treat - with synthroid or other synthetic hormone.
