Last year I began working as a promotional model for a few different companies under an I-9. I have not recieved any forms regarding taxes. I heard that these forms are called 1099s and that I should only recieve one from the companies that paid me more than $600. Is this true?

Yes, it's true they only have to send you a 1099 if you made more than $600 from them. But if you made less than that, you are still required to report the amount on your tax return.

Yes, the 1099. And the companies you worked for are not required to send them out before January 31st. Also, there is alot of good information on the irs website. irs.gov
