immature telling people what to believe and if they do not they are going to the devil or others telling them they are such idiots for following a belief. We are not a melting pot. We are a country of many different cultures and that means beliefs as well. We will never be the same nor should we be the same so why all the banter in this forum?

religion has always been a cause of division and wars, spirituality does NOT include a relationship with Jesus. SPirituality means following heart and not someone else, or a book, or a preacher, or a spiritual leader, it means becoming your own leader.

Depends on what the question is, and whos asking it.
If a Christian writes in and says that if you don't do what God expects of you, then you won't be raptured and will go to hell, then hey - guess what - Thats bullshit, dear. And any true Christian on here that hears someone telling people that, has at very least, the responsibility to stop them, and say what Gods Word really tells about the subject. Unless you think its a better idea to have some poor soul thinking that he/she is gonna go to hell. Because of the nonsense and/or lies of man, there have been people who have suffered their entire lifes. Like the woman who was told by her priest that even though her husband raped repeatedly their two little daughters from the age of FOUR, that she had to take the man back when he got out of jail, because the Bible is against divorce. THAT LIE MADE THAT WOMAN TAKE HIM BACK. She made the two daughters, now ages 18 and 22, leave the home, so the husband would not feel uncomfortable. This is the type of thing that happens when lies are told in the name of religion. If I see a lie being told, I will correct it. And my studies are from the original manuscripts, so I know what the hell is written.
Do you think its a better idea to just say "oh, praise the Lord" all day long and help nobody? If someone is telling lies, they are either an idiot or a liar - you make the choice.

I would welcome it if people would be respectful of each other when they ask questions or make comments, but it seems to be impossible in the Religion/Spirituality section. We should be able to banter over our different opinions and beliefs but people get too angry at each other. I agree that we are all different and from unique backgrounds and cultures. I feel like we should all be comfortable with what we choose for ourselves and not put others down for disaggreeing with us. Live and let live and the world would be a better, kinder place.

Very nicely put Daisy. I am not sure about the immaturity though certainly there is that faction of it to consider. All the rude comments, bashing, flaming, stalking, etc., has no reason to be other than for people to spout off ignorance. A little respect for others, where ever it comes from would go a long way to making the whole world a better place.

PS...Its not just in religion and spirituality.

A lot of people who put questions here are very self righteous and up tight about their beliefs. It is so tempting to make fun of them! The other thing is the questions: Only a minority are sensible. Most could be answered by simply doing a 'Google' and reading it up for themselves. I think most of the immaturity lies with the questioners.

well people tend to divide and segregate and seperate from amongst others due to their religious beliefs and it's kind of unfortunate that people in this section use this section to try to convert or deconvert people to and from religion instead of using this forum for what it was meant for and that is to ask questions and answer questions and learn about different beliefs and religions and meet different people from all walks of life

There's so much banter because of the way many of the questions are asked. Quite frankly, some of the questions are not even questions but rather just slanderous statements.

The identify is faith & Spirituality, and non-non secular or maybe non-non secular human beings may take an interest. it isn't non secular and non secular. i have continually had an interest in religions, delusion, folklore and superstition. i do not in my opinion trust in them although.

People will always get defensive about what they believe. If they did not they might start to question their belief systems whether or not they are right are not is irrelevant, it is the simple fact that most people do not question what they were taught.

Ignorance rules! Look at the previous answer. He doesn't even realize that Jesus set up an organization and told Peter that He would always be with it, that it would endure forever, etc., etc. God forgive me, I'm so bored of it all. I mean the ignorance
