I've had a wart on my thumb for about 2 months now, and I just wanted to know where do they come from. And Why? And how do you get rid of it?

They are highly contagious- you've probably caught it from someone else. Try going to the dermatologist who can cut it out, or try a medicine called Duofilm. It helps a lot. Try not to touch around that area, as the wart will spread to the surrounding area and create a 'colony' of other warts which will appear in the next few years or so.

Good luck... they're horrible!! Can't stand them!!

There are different kinds of warts. They are caused by a virus. My son started having a few warts in both his hands, I used to take him to the wart clinic and he had them freezed every week but with him nothing happened, usually after a few times freezing them they should fall off but with him they never did. Instead they were multiplying. In the end his warts had to be taken off under general anasthetic. This was about 7 years ago and to this day they have not come back.

Warts are caused by a virus and easily spread. To remove them either use a home freezing kit you can buy at the drug store or go to your doc and he can freeze it off. Be careful what you touch though with the finger that has the wart so you don't accidently spread it to someplace you don't want warts.

Warts are caused by HPV(human papilloma virus). They are contageous. Dont pick or bite them. Use duct tape on the wart. Leave it on until it gets wet or dirty then put more on. Or you can see a dermatologist.

It's caused by a virus. You can get something like "Freeze-on" from the drugstore that will get rid of it.
