Global warming may increase but not from our use of fuel oils or other burnings unless it is the trees. I am not an activist but am angry for the cover up! Volcanoes spurt out massive amounts of SO2 and other gases. This gives our acid rain! It effects our forests and we cut trees and many are not required to replant in some parts of the world! We will have many more earthquakes and scientists in the know will tell of this. At present, the last 100 years has seen a 1000 fold increase in earthquake activity. Remember this: The average volcano will generate more pollutants than every car in the US for one full year! It is, as usual, politics played by the left... If any think the UN is not left leaning then pull your head out of the sand! Look at Africa and the millions killed there and we hear from the UN, it is an internal affair for them to settle! It is a political war against a countries own people! Liars at the UN, BIG TIME and what use are they? What have they done in the last 30 years but support socialism and Communism? A blight against all people and true history will reflect this! Earl

People have well answered why weather is different than climate.
To the people who say it's "solar variation" or "volcanoes". You're provably wrong. The volcano thing is particularly absurd and factually untrue about the volume of gas..
The IPCC report analyzed those things and many others. That analysis is not their opinion, it's straightforward calculations based on peer reviewed data. And they say the major problem is us. The IPCC report has huge amounts of data and has received the most peer review of any scientific document in history. It's a unanimous report of hundreds of scientists from 130 countries all around the world, including countries with very different political concerns. Some are more conservative than the US, some less. Science does not get any more solid than this.

Your question is hard to comprehend, especially in that it's got two parts. However: the global warming and localized areas of cold are not mutually exclusive. Even in the same location, the average temperature is likely to show and increasing trend, over the years.

That's funny, I remember it being 60+ degrees in New York in January. You know, last month? Global Warming is an average of world temperatures, not local conditions for a single week.

there is a difference between weather and climate.
for example, it's cold this week, in january it was 70 for a few days. that's weather.
the last 20 years have been in the 25 warmest years on record (that's not exact, but i'm too lazy to look up the specific #s), that's climate.
