i don't really know any scientific information on the subject, but i know that hot water strips the natural oils from your skin, leaving you really dry and itchy, so it's not always best to take hot showers. Cold showers are good to wake you up in the morning but when your washing yourself with soap you want to use hot water because it opens up your pores.

My final verdict is to just take a luke warm shower so that you don't burn yourself, especially your head where you need oil to keep it from getting dry and flaky.

Also totally disregard what that person said about not using soap, if you don't wash your face with soap your pores will clog and acne will form. Just using water doesn't get rid of the excess oil and bacteria. Using soap will dry the skin, but using warm water will open the pores and allow you to apply moisturizer to keep your skin from being too dry. You are supposed to apply moisturizer when the pores are open so do it no more than 10 minutes after getting out of the shower.

I really depends. If your hot and may overheat a cooler shower would be best. To get clean, a hot shower. It will do a better job getting rid of your dirt and dead skin. But will also dry out your skin. Skip using soap on your face (it will dry out your face even more causing your body to produce extra oil resulting in an acne break out.)

For your skin... slightly warm or cold showers are better, cause hot showers make your skin dry... so dry that it will itch.. now, for your body, i mean your organisms.. if you just worked out, warm is better, as there's no violent change in temperature... this changes can sometimes be a little perjudicial to the heart. In other conditions, slighty cold or cold water is good for your circulation, as it makes the heart work faster to war your body.
