Who told you that dad now has temp. custody? Him? Or a Social Worker? Do you have legal documents stating that you have custody? If you do and it is full custody you can contact the police and they will escort your son home. If it is joint custody you will have to seek legal advice. I work in child protection and see this a lot, there is nothing social services can do for you though, you really need to talk to your lawyer. It sounds like dad is trying to go for custody because he has told someone somewhere that you are unfit, even though this may not be the case! However someone should have talked to you about this... you didnt hear from social services? Sorry to hear about this and best of luck.

You are lucky you have notice to get to court before the hearing. He has been granted temporary custody of the child until the hearing. Better get there prepared to answer all kinds of questions. He evidently has some kind of evidence that you are unfit or something. Get a lawyer. May the best for the child come of this!

Welcome to the world of child custody.

Who knows why the ex's fall through the cracks. I have no clue how they do it!! I have custody, always had it and always will.
After 2-3 years of not seeing the kids one of my teenagers wanted to spend time with his bio father. OK I set it up. He went clear across the USA to spend the summer with his bio father.
His bio father, my ex husband sent requests to our state for this child's school records. How? Who knows but it sure ticked me off! I had to re register him in his school and go through all the questions as to why his records were sent to the eastern coast. As I was rather ticked and asked them how could you without calling me!
Ex husbands are sneaky, most of the time lying on there way using people to get what they want. At any cost. Even the child's well being.
Guess it dose not help being nice and trying to think of the children.......
I wish you lots of luck! You are dealing with the justice system. They are not always the smartest people in the basket, nor do they talk to each other. State to state is a pain! They make it clear they do not care....
