Yes that sounds fine, but if you are at home I do not understand why the pup must be crated so much during the day. Instead of crating him if you are home you can put him on a leash and keep him right by you at all times so if he starts sniffing you can take him to his potty area. The rest sounds fine. Supervised exploration is to let the pup roam around the house, but you must watch him at all times, so that in case he starts to sniff or go potty you can catch him right away and take him to his potty spot. It is much harder to break bad habits than to teach them right ones from the beginning. If your pup goes somewhere other than the potty place soak or pick it up, and move it with dog to the potty place. You can get rid of the scent with deoderizing cleaner and a couple drops of vanilla extract. This way pup will not want to continue to use that spot. You need to give lots of praise when puppy uses his potty spot, and a firm no with immediately being brought to potty spot along with the potty accident clean up let the pup smell that you put the cleaned up accident there and praise him if he goes. That sounds like an excellent potty schedule so long as it fits in with your time table. If not you can adjust it a little. You must be consistent with the schedule. Good Luck with your first pup. Once you have a dog you can never go back. You will be a dog lover for life.

I don't know who wrote that schedule, but OMG! Your pup should easily adapt to YOUR schedule. I don't see the need for a crate if you are going to be home. Only at night if you don't want your pup to sleep with you or if you are leaving the house.

Just remember that puppies need to potty frequently. (every hour or two) That will diminish as he gets older. Puppies should be fed 2-3 times per day and ALWAYS let them out after eating.

I am a night owl and my dogs eat their supper at 10pm. They let me know what time it is!

Supervised exploration means to let your puppy explore the apartment while keeping an eye on him so he doesn't get into anything he shouldn't and so there are no "potty" accidents. Don't be surprised if you get a 4am wake up because your puppy needs to go out. Puppy's aren't capable of holding it for eight hours. You may also want to plan time each day for grooming. Yorkie's need to be brushed and combed daily to keep their hair from matting. Good Luck

This schedule is a great starting point, and can be altered to fit your schedule...such as longer play times, longer feed times, LONGER POO TIMES. Puppies go when the need hits them...if you schedule for 30 min and he/she does not poo and pee, then you are off your schedule. I agree with confining to a crate...they need quiet nap time...when my kids were home all day during the summer, I told them to make sure they put Titan (our Great Dane puppy) in the crate for at least 2 hrs for a good nap! I would say "nap time" should be at least an hr, and play time around 2 hrs...just adjust the time to your schedule.

Good luck

Looks good except the gap between taking him out. You have about a 4.5 hour gap between taking him out at one point. If you are getting a very young puppy, you should take him out every 2 hours. You don't have to stick to such a rigid schedule though.

Supervised explortation means to let him explore his surrounding while keeping an eye on him.

That sounds horrible. Why would you want to keep your dog locked away in a crate. That is very cruel. The schedule seems fine but instead of crating your dog why not get him a puppy playpen. It a gate structure you can set up in your kitchen, bathroom, or patio that will let him move about and look at the world without getting into trouble.

If you are to make a schedule for your dog then you will have to stick with it... Your Yorkie will get used to it and will expect things to happen at a certain time... Otherwise if you are obliged to this commitment then it is good... Good Luck! :)
