I've been doing weight watchers with some friends for a few weeks now. The first week I was using as few points as I could while still maintaining a 'full' feeling.I lost 5 lbs the first week. I was told that people actually lose more weight when they are eating close to their full point allowence, within 5 points.I was wondering if this is true. I gained back 2 of the 5 lbs during the second week. I have used only a few of my flex points for the week.any advice?

Using less points will usually allow you to loose a little more weight or allow you to have some 'extra' points later in the week. I would not recommend using all your points everyday.

use all you daily points and you have those bonus points for special occasions. IF you go to low you will possibly gain since you body will not be getting all the required nutrition. The program is designed for a healthy weight loss by following the program. it is your choice to use the bonus points or not or count activity points. I do not count activity points at all and have found to get better weight loss than if I short my daily points

You should use close to your total allowable points. If you eat too little, your body will go into starvation mode and horde all calories you consume. Eating is part of maintaining a healthy metabolism. It's just that you have to eat healthy things and not over-indulge. :-) Good luck!

I've learned, the hard way, that the more often I eat, the faster my metabolism works... since I've been making myself eat at least 3 times per day (5 times is better) my metabolism has increased... I also take B-complex vitamins (they boost your metabolism) ... i try to make healthy food choices... here's an example of 5 meals a day for me:
1. fat free vanilla yogurt with fresh or frozen fruit (blueberries, strawberries, raspberries, whole cranberries)
2. an apple or cucumber (or something like that) mid morning
3.imitation crab meat with salad greens and dressing
4.chicken breast w/salsa, salad or cooked veges, milk
5. jello or something else semi healthy that satisfies my sweet tooth

I think we need to listen to our bodies about what it needs... for instance, I need a high protein diet... winter I usually eat more carbs (oatmeal w/protein powder for breakfast)... summer I eat more protein.. my body needs it as I work a very physical job... and I do eat sweets... and chocolate.. I allow myself treats when i really want them.. I do not eat all fat free stuff.. I do allow animal fats.. I mostly eat healthy fats (fish).. i use organic, unprocessed sugar... I've just learned to listen to what my body needs, try to keep a healthy balance (not getting all crazy about the fat free stuff or allowing myself to overindulge because of emotional needs)... and I exercise regularly... and tell my self that I am beautiful and ... I want to be healthy rather than "skinny" like the models we see.... this is what i found works for me

The weight watchers program allows it's members to save (or bank) points. That way, if a member is aware of an upcoming event that involves food as part of the social interaction, they can save points for the event.

They encourage you to use all your points in a day. Using exercise points and weekly points is optional.

What happened to the tried and true weight loss program? Eat when you are hungry, not when you are bored, happy, tired, sad, etc. Stop using excuses for your lack of self control and laziness.
