I take Xanax before every denture procedure. I've always been terrified of dentist since I was a young child and some bad experiences and the Xanax helps calm you down. My 39 year old son does also when he needs an extraction. IT HELPS and I told the dentist and they approved it wholeheartedly....SO, use it, you'll be glad you did and it takes away the anxiety that goes with sitting in that CHAIR!!!

You can take your xanax but let your dentist know that you have taken one and what the strength was when you get into the dentist chair. If you do not have xanax listed on your chart for what meds you are on please ask the dentist to update your chart and add that.

Im a dentist, so you can trust me. First thing...don't worry! You'll be fine. Xanax has no interactions with dental anaesthetics. If you are severe dental phobic, your dentist might recommend nitrous oxide sedation (works better than Xanax) before starting.

I know what you mean! There's always web md, but to get a more personalized answer, I'd call up your dentist's office or doctor's office and ask them if your meds would interact with their numbing gas/injection. You're right to have concerns about that though, more people should have that awareness.
