A Saudi Arabian court has convicted and sentenced 20 foreigners to receive lashes and spend several months in prison for attending a party where alcoholic drinks were served and men and women danced, a Saudi newspaper reported yesterday.

The kingdom's religious police arrested 433 foreigners, including more than 240 women, for attending the "impudent" party in Jiddah, the state-guided newspaper Okaz reported.

Just to inform ignorant answerers that Saudi Law is sharia law, which is islamic law. You can deny that their interpretation of the sharia is wrong, but you cannot deny that their sharia law has nothing to do with islam.

Praise be to Allah
First of all ur name indicates that u r a muslim but ur question doesn't ...
The Muslim ummah is one nation, with one ‘aqeedah (belief) and one sharee’ah (law). Because every flock needs a shepherd and every nation needs a leader to guide them to goodness and ward off evil from them, Islam enjoins the appointment of a ruler over the ummah, who is to be elected by the Muslims, to rule them according to the Book of Allaah and the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him). as Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):

“O Dawood (David)! Verily, We have placed you as a successor on the earth; so judge you between men in truth (and justice) and follow not your desire for it will mislead you from the path of Allaah. Verily, those who wander astray from the path of Allaah (shall) have a severe torment, because they forgot the Day of Reckoning[Saad 38:26]

and as the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said:

“Each of you is a shepherd and is responsible for his flock. The ruler who is (appointed) over the people is a shepherd and is responsible for his flock…” (Narrated by Muslim, no. 1829)

You have to know that Saudi Arabia and any other muslim countries are (muslim countries) so the first and second sources of enactment are Quran and Sunnah of prophet Mohammed (peace be upon him) and as u know alcohol is forbidden in Islam.

so the rulers of a muslim countries should act as what u've heard and the foreigner should respect the laws of muslim countries as muslims should respect the laws of foreign countries

Are you preaching or asking? you want to understand that correlation does no longer recommend causation. Alcohol perchance a section contained in the Western human beings behaving badly....what's the component in Muslim countries behaving badly? merely because muslims do no longer drink, does no longer recommend they do no longer dedicate any crimes (better 1/2 and toddlers attack, rape, murders etc). Muslims like to deliver out a number of those records to coach that what Islam preaches is ideal...why do not you also usher in records from muslims for evaluation applications. merely because this stuff are literally not recorded does no longer recommend that they did not ensue! heavily! i'm no longer denying that alcohol has unfavourable influence on the mind and body.

Thats Saudi law.

Saudi law isn't 100% Shariah law.
for example, not allowing women to drive is not Sharia law.

No its not Islam as there is no compulsion in religion in Islam.

It is however modern day Saudi Arabia where people do not wish their culture to have such things in them.

It's not Islam. It doesn't say a thing about 'ISLAM' sending the drunktards to Jail. So what the hell are you trying to Imply?

Ever heard anything called LAW? Americans don't allow first cousins to get married, incest and it's illegal. What the hell does that have to do with any religion? My God.

That's justice in Saudi Arabia. That is the way they carry out their law. We put people in prison for being drunk in public too and also for DUIs.
