Religion only being a word cannot do anything. The people within the so said religion are to blame for the conflict. You don't believe me write the word religion on a piece of paper and just leave it sit. Now when only you see the word religion nothing happens. Now others see it and they start making comments ,,,, comments lead to arguments....arguments lead to conflicts.
It is our goal to stop others from being wrong, better yet it is not our place to tell them they are wrong - no one likes to be told they are wrong.

In the mundane consideration there are so many things, right and wrong. So long you are on the mundane platform, you have to obey all these right and wrong. But in the spiritual platform, there is no duality.

Intoxicated by these objects of material illusion, the conditioned soul becomes madly convinced that he is the center of the universe and that everything in existence has been created only for his personal sense gratification. Whoever obstructs such illusory enjoyment becomes immediately his enemy and subject to be killed.
Because of this bodily concept of life and the shackles of illusion, the whole world is being violently shaken by conflict arising from envy and lust. There is conflict throughout the world, and great world leaders fight like cats and dogs for the economic development of their countries.

Religion or no religion, conflict will be there eternally. Even if you go to the forest to be alone, you will have conflict with animals or your own mind.

Religion is man-made and a legalistic order in differing views of human beings most definitely creates conflict but imagine if we had the same values and goals... the same rule book... and a perspective of value for one another as a very specially created person...

that would, no doubt, open up lines of communication, common goals and values, and respect as each has the same foundational beliefs of "right" and "wrong".

As much as there may be a disagreement on preferences like favorite color or comfort foods, there would be a mutual respect and consideration which would be higher than the the simple disagreement and compromise would then show the love for one another.
Whereas in larger ethical issues such as genetic engineering or environmental concerns - there would be a common ground if not in the details of it because of a shared God and common rulebook.

That is the essence of God's ways detailed in the Bible:

"Love God with all your heart, strength, mind, and soul. And the second is like the first - Love your neighbor as yourself."

Religion SHOULD teach what IS right or wrong and try to convince others to stop DOING wrong. Trouble is, one religion says something is right, another says it's wrong, and the world is too stupid to realize that only one answer is correct. The solution? Each person decides what's good for him- or herself. The result? Look around, Bubba.

No, its not to stop them from being wrong. Its to control them. If you notice, religion does alot of wrong things. Like condoning slavery, and the subjugation of women (that modern Christians are ignoring).

Conflict has always been here and will always be here. Its human nature.

Is this where conflict evolved.

It just could be!

My dog has no religious leaning at all - so I, a person of faith, had to teach him not to bite people.
