The sheer inadequacy of the Iraqi security forces can be attributable to four things:
1. Their emulation of the sheer incompetence in which the Bush administration managed this war. Hence, they are merely mimicking their leaders.
2. The Iraq security forces don’t truly trust Americans, and why should they? After all, we are illegally occupying their land. It would seem natural that many Iraqis would use their employment under a foreign occupying force to exploit that force for money, while not truly serving it.
3. The very nature of the Iraqi security forces job is to either defend a tribal adversary, or attack someone they consider to be kin or part of their sect. Hence, there will be a natural conflict of interest; a conflict that our brilliant minds in Washington didn’t take into account when they thought up this occupation.
4. The men who constitute the Iraqi security forces aren’t professional soldiers or even professional law enforcement officials, hence the time allotted by our government to get them up to par isn’t enough, especially when you consider Saddam’s security agencies have been doing this for years.

With the current violence and lawlessness happening in Iraq, Iraq's economy, industries, and businesses are in shambles. Most of the Iraqi population are jobless. In such a situation, where the average Iraqi man has a family to support, there is very little choice and very few jobs to go around. Therefore, many join the insurgency where they can get paid by the insurgent's financial backers. In the same way, many join the government's military/police force for employment and other benefits. But that's where the similarities end. While the insurgents were highly motivated to wage war against the occupying forces, with the sense of feeling that they're fighting for the freedom of their homeland, the opposite is true with the Iraqi military and police. They have very little motivation and will to fight. They're simply after the salary and would be glad if the day passes by without them being involved in any combat.

You call that being trained well? Doesen't sound like it to me. The new government in Iraq is going to be that way though, because they are or were so used to the old ways things were done or handled. Going to take them a bit to get used to this new thing Were forcing on them, basically.
I sorta don't blame them, for hundreds of years they had ways of doing things, then all of a sudden, America comes over and in a very short period of time changes all that. How would we like it if another country didn't like the way we did or handled things, came over, knocked over a bunch of important buildings, descrated monuments that were probably important for hundreds, if not thousands of years, and then told we have to find a way to deal with it and follow the new rules.
You can't expect it all to run smoothly after only being there a few years. I don't really think we had any right to do anything to Iraq.

First of all, consider the source. SeeBS 'news' is the electronic version of the 'yellow press' of days gone by. They are so focused on their agenda that they have been known to LIE to make their point. But yes, I have my doubts about the sincerity of the members of the elected gov't of Iraq. I suspect that they are merely waiting for us to go away so they can turn the gov't over to one muslim faction or another. As far as I'm concerned, those people will deserve whatever gov't they give themselves.

Well, they are obviously not well trained. Who was supposed to train them? Wasn't the US military? Perhaps they don't want to be trained or we've gone about it in the wrong way. Maybe the support they receive from their own people is lacking. I think it may be some of all of the above.

Don't listen to the news do your own research. The main stream media leans one way or another depends who pays the bills. Do your own research and educate yourself. as for the question its not suprising that happens it happens here in the US. But as was mentioned before one checkpoint doesn't show that all the checkpoints are like that.

It has replace into appropriate accountable the U. S. for all issues undesirable in this international and not one of the stable. Killing will proceed in the Mid-East long after US and allies are long gone. those peace-loving Muslims might desire to have a lot of hatred to vent, as those killings are a compulsory portion of their faith and education from Muhammed to kill all infidels. might God in Heaven provide them their in basic terms reward!

Not surprised, but it says they found one outpost like this, then claim it goes on all over Iraq. One outpost does not mean all over Iraq.
