I have all types of flour at home but i have found out if i use all purpose flour you need baking soda or powder to help it rise, but i don't have these can i just use self raising flour even though the receipe says to use all purpose flour

The ratio when trying to use all purpose instead of self-rising is for 1 cup self rising, use 1 cup all-purpose flour plus 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder and 1/8 teaspoon salt.

To try and use self-rising instead of all purpose I think would work, as long as the ratios are the same. So for example if your recipe calls for 2 cups flour, 3 teaspoons Baking Powder and 1/4 teaspoon salt, you're ok. If off from that idea, I wouldn't do it.

Yes, you can use the self-raising flour but do not add any other kind of raising agent.

Yes, just omit the salt and any leavening (Baking powder or soda)
