Embarking around the world is quite an outstanding accomplishment and one you should be pleased your girl is able to achieve. You didn't state the reasons you are starting to resent her. Perhaps you are jealous because you didn't make the achievement yourself. Step back a little and re-assess your thinking and find where this resentment really comes from. If you love her, you will want for her to go after whatever makes her happy and revel in her joys with her.

Your jealous. It's a normal action.

Your mixed emotions and resent are the jealousy. Your heart feels like she's abandoned you and you don't like that.

You could try to be "in order", but you need to get over the jealous thing, and that may take some doing.

no n yes. well i think that the word resent is the wrong word. u may dislike her but neva say resent as it is a powerful word that once said cannot be taken back. i think u should tlk 2 u're girl friend about the trip n if u hav any questions, problems or theories u should tlk them over. i am sure that u're girlfriend will be happy to answer you'r questions n problems n i'm sure this will make u both closer as a couple. lol
hope this will help

I think it's understandable you have mixed feelings and emotions but if you tried to hold her back from a life experience as big as seeing the world, I think she would be the one who would end up resenting you, so it wouldn't work out anyway. If you love someone you have to let them follow their dreams, not matter how hard it may be!!

No, you are not out of order!
Think of it this way.... YOU have just embarked on a quest to stay home and be content with boredom. Your mixture of emotions should be controlled and harnessed to bring you the power to rise up off your couch and grab a soda out of the fridge. Seriously, the girlfriend is traveling around the world, exposing herself to danger. YOu are safe at home. peace.

No. This is what happens to couples all the time. Your probably just afraid that she'll meet someone else, AND your happy for her at the same time.

This calls for a talk so set her down and actually have a talk with her. Tell her what your feeling and make her promise on whatever religion she has or if she has no religion at all than just make her pinky promise. That will add some fun in the boring sorrow talk.

No, but you should break up with her if this is going to be a really long trip. I mean, you are DJ Enigma, with a name like that, you should have no problem finding a new girl.

Also, that's not resentment, it's jealously. Tell her to have the time of her life, because that's what a journey like that will be.

Well, certainly she is making the statement that SHE can live without YOU for these weeks or months - sorry for you, that sux. Were you invited? THat would make a lot of difference - also, did the two of you discuss "waiting" for each other?

I'd say it would be normal for you to resent, if nothing else, the separation. Hope it's nothing more serious than that.

I guess anyone would be upset and miss their partner in these circumstance. I did a lot of travelling for a few years so know how much she will get out of it.

why don't you save up and fly out to suprise her at one of her destinations soon. if you can work extra hours to get the money it will keep you busy so as not to miss her too much and you can be with her quicker.

don't resent her her travelling or you may lose her all together. you are not out of order though if my boyfriend told me he was off I would be upset and emotional too.

No one likes to be separated from their significant other. If it looks like this kind of thing will be a common occurrence, it might be best to find someone who can be there for YOU, and allow you to be there for them.
You are not married yet, and haven't made the commitment to stick through thick and thin. NOW is the time to find that special person you totally mesh with. Best of luck.
